Fellowship in the Smokies -

New Arrival Day

A new arrival time has been set for our Fellowship in the Smokies.  Due to difficulty scheduling housekeepers to clean our buildings on Sundays, check in time will be after 3:00 PM on Mondays. Check out, as before, will be 11:00 AM on Friday mornings.

The Fellowship in the Smokies is like a free bed and breakfast. We provide your lodging Monday night through Friday morning. Your breakfast is also provided. After breakfast a devotional is given along with information about CBM. You have the rest of the day to enjoy Christian fellowship or go sightseeing.

The 2009 Fellowship dates are:

  2. May 11-15  Monday through Friday am

Jeri and Bill Gregg  and son, Hunter
  THE BURDEN

I repeatedly told Jeri Gregg, if we start a new CBM Area we would first start with clubs or Released Time; second begin Correspondence Lessons and third rent a local camp each summer for a week or two. Her response, "Our kids have little to do in this part of Alabama. A year round CBM camp would be such a blessing." Jeri is a middle aged lady with a love for kids and a burden to start a kids camp.

This past summer she took her son and several other young people for a week to Camp Victory, our CBM camp in lower Alabama. While there she reflected on her childhood days at Camp Victory of how God had ministered to her.

She has been persistent in her pursuit to share her burden. After receiving numerous phone calls I was convinced this was a "God thing". Material was sent, meetings were held and on February 19th, 2008, Jeri's steering committee voted to place themselves under the CBM National umbrella in order to begin a new CBM Area in Central Alabama.

Jeri Gregg and her small group do not have land, money or full-time staff, but by faith a kids retreat will be held this spring and day camp is scheduled for this summer. Your prayers will encourage Jeri and others to act upon the burden God has placed on her.
